This distinguished-looking gentleman is Winston. His owner, Emily, is a friend of Katherine’s (see Katherine & Della), and when Katherine happened to mention to Emily that I was going to be taking her portrait, Emily asked if she could come along too. Winston has pancreatitis, and is receiving the best possible care, as Emily works at a local veterinary practice. Winston has been Emily’s companion for many years, and Emily wanted to get a...
My friend Katherine recently adopted Della from our local animal shelter. I hadn’t seen Katherine for a few weeks, and happened to run into her while picking up the mail. Katherine practically dragged me out to her car to show me Della. We talked about photos, and Katherine wanted to wait until a small patch of fur had grown in (Della had had a rash), but I pointed out that puppies (and children) grow so fast that we shouldn’t wait. I’m...
I was hired by Frank and Charlotte Voralik to photograph their beautiful home in Teton Village, WY. The purpose of the shoot was to document the home for the purposes of advertising for rental. Here we see the family room. This was a challenging yet rewarding shoot – it always is tricky to balance the exposure for the view outside the window with the exposure for the room interior. I ended up lighting this with three Bowens and three Nikon...
I seem to have become the Official Paulson Family Photographer… I photographed their engagement announcement. I photographed their wedding. I photographed their firstborn Son. I photographed the family while they were expiating their second child. And I just photographed them with Nathan, the youngest Paulson. Thank you Joe, Kim, Ben, and Nathan. You are all a pleasure to work with.
Theo is new to Jackson Hole, and is a gentleman of many talents. I caught him here making the final adjustments to a balloon sculpture – a white bear holding three tulips.
Joe and Kim Paulson. I have the privilege of having become their family photographer – from courtship to marriage, from the birth of their first child, to continuing to document the development of their growing family.
If you’re a dog owner, you know that they quickly become a member of the family. Your dog gives you so much love, and in return, it is your responsibility to care for him or her. When a family member is diagnosed with cancer, the family rallies around them.
This is Yogi, a Bulldog belonging to Sonda Strozza. I was just coming out of Rally’s Pet Garage when I ran into Yogi. I immediately asked Sonda if I could photograph Yogi. Here is the result.
I entered this photo into the 2011 Teton County Fair photography competition. I’m happy to say that this won a first place ribbon, best of division, and best of show. My dog, Arazi, is a Vizsla – a Hungarian pointer / retriever. Vizslas need lots of exercise, and Arazi is no exception. He certainly keeps me on my toes.
